Lets take a look at some of the most popular diamond shapes.
The round brilliant is the best selling diamond shape in the world. Diamonds are classified in two categories of shape: round and fancy. The modern round brilliant has 58 facets or 57 if the culet is excluded. The round brilliant maximizes light return, meaning the diamond will have a great deal of fire and sparkle. We have several round brilliant diamonds in our inventory at all times here at the Spexton Fine Jewelry store in Tulsa. When you visit our store, you can see several examples of our round brilliant diamonds. We can also bring in diamonds for you to see in the various carat weights, clarities, and colors.
We have a selection that includes both mined diamonds and laboratory grown diamonds. Most of our diamonds are certified by a reputable grading house such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or the International Gemological Institute (IGI).
Oval is another very popular diamond shape. We have made several custom engagement rings that incorporate oval shaped diamonds. All of our diamonds are ethically sourced through what is called the Kimberly Process.
Emerald cut is one of the oldest diamond shapes, with roots going back to the 1500s. Emerald cut diamonds can lend themselves nicely to Art Deco inspired designs, due to their clean lines and emphasis on geometry that mirrors motifs often seen in Art Deco designs.
With emerald cut diamonds, it is important to choose a diamond of a high clarity. Emerald cut diamonds are like a window - you can see directly through them. If the diamond were of a lower clarity, you would be able to see the inclusions very clearly. This is why it is important to choose a high clarity emerald cut diamond that does not have any visible inclusions. At our store on Cherry Street, we can help you choose a gorgeous emerald cut diamond, whether it is a mined diamond or a laboratory grown diamond.
Princess cut is a square shape with sharp corners. It is a popular cut for engagement rings. It's origins can be traced back to 1971.
We create custom engagement rings that incorporate princess cut diamonds. We can show you several examples of princess cut rings when you visit our store on Cherry Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Pear shaped diamonds are another wonderful option. We set each and every diamond right here at Spexton Fine Jewelry.
