IS FINDING THE CORRECT RING SIZE REALLY THAT HARD?
Finding the correct ring size even if you've been sized by a jeweler can be very difficult, if not impossible, without actually wearing that size from day to day. This is because our fingers can fluctuate dramatically in size from day to day. The only truly good way to find what ring size fits you best most of the time is to actually wear that size for several days, or even weeks.
At Spexton we focus on creating custom-made rings for each of our customers, and since most of those customers were online we had to create a way to help them test ring sizes before we made their real ring. This way, the odds of the real ring not fitting would be very slim--thus allowing our customers the best service, and the right fit the first time.
After selling thousands of our Test Size Kits over the past few years, we discovered that over 70% of customers who tried the testers ended up wanting a totally different size than what their jeweler originally recommended!
In other words, if you're shopping for a band online, there is only a 30% chance you truly know your correct ring size!
HOW DOES THE SPEXTON TEST SIZE KIT WORK?
Step 1: Visit a jeweler and get an initial idea of your ring size.
Step 2: Order your 3 test sizes/widths. We recommend of course choosing the size your jeweler recommended, and 1/2 size larger, and 1/2 size smaller so that you have a full size range to test.
Step 3: Wear the rings for several days (or weeks) in a row to determine which size fits you the best most of the time. I recommend wearing them as long as you can before you start the production of your real wedding band.
Step 4: Now that you know your size, come back to Spexton.com and order any ring. Upon checkout, put your email address that is associated with your test size order into the coupon code field and you'll get $50 back towards your ring purchase.
WHAT IF I JUST WANT THE TEST SIZE KIT FROM SPEXTON, AND I WANT TO ORDER MY RING ELSEWHERE?
No problem, you can still purchase the kit from Spexton to help you determine your best fitting size. This is a great idea if you're buying an artisan-made ring from your local jeweler, or with an Etsy.com seller, etc. I suggest giving/shipping the test size you like the best to your ring maker so they can perfectly replicate the size. This is a great way to avoid having to send back your ring for resizing after your wedding day and having to be without it after the wedding is over.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TEST SIZE KIT COST?
The custom test size kit is $50, and that includes a credit towards any Spexton ring, so if you're shopping with Spexton it is essentially free--basically a downpayment towards your real ring.
If you are just wanting the kit and not a Spexton ring, it is simply the $50 fee--a small price to pay to ensure you are going to love your ring size, and especially if your ring maker charges fees to resize their rings as so many Etsy.com sellers do.
HOW SOON WILL THE KIT ARRIVE?
We make each kit to order, and our machines run Monday through Friday. We generally ship your test size kit the next business day after your order is placed. Free USPS shipping is included in the test sizers for US based buyers, and transit time usually takes between 5-7 days to arrive.
WHAT HAVE OTHER CUSTOMERS THOUGHT OF THE KIT?
Here are some recent reviews from test size kit buyers that you can see along with many more by scrolling to the bottom of the Test Size Kit page:
- "These sizers were a great investment. My fiancé had tried on several rings so we thought we knew which size would work for him. We ordered the sizers just to be sure, and he ended up sizing up .25 of a size. Without the sizers his ring would have been tight."
- "Without the sizers we would have ended up ordering the wrong size for my husband! I highly recommend choosing the sizer option ~ a very nice option! This was not available when ordering my ring (a different jeweler/artist) and my ring does not fit :(."
- "My fiance and I went to 2 different jewelers like they suggested, and his ring size was so different at each one! We ordered these sizers based off of what the jewelers said his ring size was, but they were all too big! It was awesome to be able to try different widths, too! So we ended up ordering half a size smaller than the smallest test size we ordered, and I loved having the peace of mind that if we had to resize, it was okay. But, we don't have to return it, since it fits perfectly."
