1. Why is Spexton steel jewelry so different than anything else like it?
Unlike virtually every other steel and titanium jewelry item online or in a retail store which is mass-produced on computer driven machines, Spexton is made entirely with manual tools and our hands. Each item on this site is painstakingly created upon order, making each item a hand-carved original piece of art jewelry.
2. Where is Spexton created?
Spexton is made fresh daily in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
3. What are the benefits of stainless steel and titanium jewelry?
Stainless steel and titanium make great jewelry metals for several reasons. Both are free of Nickel and are thus completely hypoallergenic. Simply put, if you eat with a fork and it doesn't irritate your skin, neither will Spexton jewelry.
Stainless steel and titanium will never rust or tarnish, making these metals extremely easy to care for.
Steel and titanium are very strong and make excellent wedding rings as they'll never bend or wear down like gold and platinum--your ring will be in your family for generations.
Steel and titanium rings will never shatter as is often the case with tungsten rings. If you're hard on rings, the hard metals of stainless steel and titanium are the hands-down best choice for you.
4. How do I clean and care for my jewelry?
You can maintain the finish of your spexton stainless steel and titanium jewelry with very little effort. Any of our items can be washed with mild soap and water, or cleaned with conventional jewelry cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners.
Most rings, depending on their design, are shipped with a special buffing pad, allowing you to scrub the surface of the ring and maintain the brushed or classic finish indefinately. The pad is safe to use even on rings with inlays of copper, silver, gold, and diamonds. To re-brush the "brushed" finish rings, you simply dust them left to right on the pad as shown in the video. Maintian the "classic" finish designs by brushing them front to back as shown.
Necklaces and bracelets typically take far less abuse than rings, and are virtually maintenance-free.
5. The copper in your jewelry looks different in each photo, what color is it actually?
When your items with copper inlays arrive the copper will be a light pinkish-orange as your items will have been freshly made.
Rings with copper inlay will vary in color depending on how often your hands get wet, how frequently you buff your ring, etc. Expect the copper in your ring to range in color anywhere from pinkish-orange, to the bronze/brown color of a penny.
Necklaces and bracelets with copper will most likely patina to a deep bronze/brown penny color, as they're typically not getting wet or cleaned as frequently as a ring.
6. What is "Argentium" silver? Why do you use it as an inlay?
Regular sterling silver is made of .925% silver, with the rest being copper (which as we know will tarnish).
Argentium silver is a new type of sterling silver made with silver and Germanium, a highly tarnish-resistant metal.
7. What kind of gold do you use?
We use 18k gold in all of our items with gold inlay. All of our inlay work is created by cutting a deep channel into the steel and filling it with a thick inlay of gold, providing you with a lifetime of wear. Nothing on our website is ever "plated" or dipped in gold.
8. How much does shipping cost?
Shipping rates are shown during the checkout process, keep in mind when choosing expedited shipping that it will not speed up the actual production time. Local customers may also choose to pick their order up in our downtown Tulsa store free of charge.
9. How quickly will my order ship?
We currently have a 2-3 WEEK wait time before your order will ship. We are offering RUSH service for an additional $50, please contact us before ordering to discuss your needs. Special requests may take longer.
10. Once my order has shipped, when will it arrive?
Orders shipped via USPS take between 2-4 days to arrive. Orders shipped via UPS and Fedex will vary based on the service you choose during checkout. Tracking numbers will be provided via email on the day your order ships.
11. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship via USPS and UPS outside of the USA. You are responsible for all applicable tariffs and duties on your order.
12. What forms of payment do you accept?
We proudly accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, and PayPal.
13. What is your "Artist Protection" return/exchange policy?
Because we literally hand-craft the majority of the items on this website we generally do not accept returns for a refund. When you make a purchase on Spexton.com, you are hiring us to spend our time working hard for you, so If you are the type of customer who frequently returns products, we are not going to get along and we urge you to shop elsewhere.
This is not to say we don't offer exceptional service, however, as we want you to be completely satisfied and LOVE your jewelry. We understand that it is difficult to select the correct size, width, etc. and we will be happy to exchange or modify anything you buy within 30 days of receipt.
