Behind the Scenes: How to Make Handmade Jewelry in Tulsa, OK

Posted on January 02, 2015 by Nathan McPherson

Have you ever wondered how we turn those little bits and parts of fine jewelry and raw materials into our awesome, handmade jewelry pieces?
Take a look behind the scenes at Spexton Jewelry and see how we make our unique stainless steel diamond earring studs!

First our co-owner and artist, Greg, fabricates the stainless discs by hand in our machine shop. This is where our studs start. Greg carves the raw material and prepares them for their next stage: the diamond setting.

Next, artist and expert bench jeweler Mike, hammers a spot for the bezel and diamond to live in the stainless steel discs.

After those places are created, Mike places the loose diamonds in 14K gold bezels.

Finally, he places the diamond bezels into the studs...

And now we have our final product!
